Fleet Supervisor Position Overview

In the role of Fleet Supervisor, you will take charge of managing the daily fleet activities at our organization.

Your responsibilities will include directing a team of vehicle detailers and outsourced operators, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to meet daily operational goals. As the onsite leader, your primary focus will be on the health and safety of your team while upholding safety regulations for fleet operations.

You will report to the Fleet Planning Manager and work collaboratively with other management personnel to facilitate all fleet compliance initiatives, reduce vehicle downtime, and assist the organization in achieving its utilization objectives.

Your duties will also encompass managing the fleet telematics system to guarantee that all vehicles are equipped with operational hardware and promptly addressing any technical issues. Additionally, you will oversee the preparation of vehicles for customer collection, ensuring that we provide outstanding service.

Main Responsibilities:

Fleet Management

  • Supervise the daily functions of the Fleet team.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies regarding vehicle readiness and safety protocols.
  • Maintain safety standards for both the team and drivers.
  • Effectively plan and implement daily operational tasks.
  • Address operational challenges and coordinate with other departments.
  • Manage vendor and service provider relationships.
  • Ensure all vehicle licenses and inspections are current.
  • Monitor vehicle telematics and generate reports.
  • Maintain precise vehicle data within systems.
  • Oversee the inventory of supplies and equipment for fleet operations.

People Management

  • Lead a team of detailers and vehicle coordinators.
  • Distribute resources within the team effectively.
  • Evaluate staff performance against established targets.
  • Assist in the recruitment and performance appraisal processes for staff.

Candidate Profile:

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience in fleet management.
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
  • Understanding of vehicle maintenance and fleet management principles.
  • Experience in managing supplier relationships.
  • Experience with electric fleets is advantageous.
