Exciting Opportunity for a Financial Expert
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join our team at Workingmums, a leading charity in the Gateshead area. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a crucial role in managing our financial resources and providing expert financial guidance to our management team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Oversee the full management accounts for the charity, including income requests, invoicing, and debtor reviews.
- Financial Reporting: Complete monthly management accounts for the charity and its trading subsidiary, as well as quarterly VAT returns.
- Bank Reconciliations: Manage bank reconciliations and other bank/cash/credit card accounts.
- Financial Analysis: Perform additional financial tasks as required, including project budgets, costing reports, variance analysis, and forecasts.
Wider Organisation & Reporting:
- Liaise with Managers: Liaise with managers and colleagues to ensure accurate financial reporting and provide advice in line with department and company budgets.
- Grant Claim Reports: Prepare and submit grant claim reports, working closely with management.
- Financial Processes: Collaborate across the organisation to enhance financial processes and improve financial efficiency.
Payroll:
- Payroll Supervision: Supervise the Finance Coordinator who processes payroll and provide support for payroll-related queries and processes.
- Salary Forecasting: Offer salary forecast reporting to aid financial decision-making and support payroll project reporting.
Requirements:
- Accounting Experience: Proficiency in accounting processes, with experience in management accounts reporting, project cost reporting, and analysis.
- Qualifications: CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CIPFA, AAT Level 4 are desirable, however not essential - we are ultimately in need of an experienced individual, so will also consider those qualified by experience.
- Software Skills: Strong skills in Office 365 tools, including Excel, Word, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and analytical abilities, with a team-oriented work ethic.
What We Offer:
- Competitive Salary: Salary: £37,000 per annum, based on experience.
- Benefits Package: 22 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing after 2 years, pension contribution (3%/5%), and access to the Employee Assistance Scheme.
