About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join our team at Workingmums, a leading charity in the Gateshead area. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a crucial role in managing the organisation's financial resources and providing financial guidance to department managers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Management: Oversee the full management accounts for the charity, including income requests, invoicing, and debtor reviews.
  • Financial Reporting: Complete monthly management accounts for the charity and its trading subsidiary, as well as quarterly VAT returns.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Manage bank reconciliations and other bank/cash/credit card accounts.
  • Financial Analysis: Perform additional financial tasks as required, including project budgets, costing reports, variance analysis, and forecasts.
Requirements
  • Accounting Experience: Proficiency in accounting processes, with experience in management accounts reporting, project cost reporting, and analysis.
  • Qualifications: CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CIPFA, AAT Level 4 are desirable, but not essential. We are looking for an experienced individual who can bring their skills and knowledge to our team.
  • Software Skills: Strong skills in Office 365 tools, including Excel, Word, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and analytical abilities, with a team-oriented work ethic.

  • Competitive Salary: A salary of £37,000 per annum, based on experience.
  • Benefits Package: A comprehensive benefits package, including 22 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing after 2 years, and a pension contribution.
