Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist Specialist to join our dynamic team at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing clinical pharmacy services to patients with mental illness, enhancing their medicines-related care and supporting the development of medicines management services.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified pharmacist to join our team of specialist mental health pharmacists. You will be responsible for providing clinical pharmacy advice on the management of patients with mental illness, participating in clinical audit, and supporting the education and training of staff groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical pharmacy services to patients with mental illness, enhancing their medicines-related care and supporting the development of medicines management services.
  • Participate in clinical audit to ensure the safe and effective use of medicines.
  • Support the education and training of staff groups to enhance their knowledge and skills in medicines management.
  • Contribute to the organisation and management of the clinical pharmacy service to specific wards/units/clinical teams.
Person Specification

We are looking for a qualified pharmacist with a Master's degree in Pharmacy or equivalent, General Pharmaceutical Council registration, and a PG certificate/diploma in mental health pharmacy or equivalent experience. You should also have excellent interpersonal, influencing, and negotiating skills, as well as evidence of CPD. Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team, clinical audit, and managing staff would be desirable.
