Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Support Worker / Team Leader to join our exceptional team at one of our residential care homes in Malvern. As a key member of our care team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and support to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead by Example
- Set high standards for yourself and others, promoting a culture of excellence and respect within the care team.
- Care Planning and Delivery
- Develop and implement personalized care plans, working closely with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure their unique needs are met.
- Deliver high-quality care and support, promoting independence, dignity, and well-being.
- Team Leadership and Development
- Supervise and mentor junior staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure they meet the required standards.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, identifying areas for development and implementing training plans to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Communication and Collaboration
- Build strong relationships with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to achieve the best possible outcomes.
- Administrative and Reporting Tasks
- Complete accurate and timely documentation, including care plans, incident reports, and other administrative tasks as required.
Requirements
- Qualifications and Experience
- NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) to be achieved within a specified timeframe
- Skills and Knowledge
- Demonstrable understanding of the legislative requirements around care of vulnerable people
- MCA and DOLS understanding of the requirements
- Strong numeracy, literacy, and computer skills
- Broad knowledge of Learning Disabilities and other related conditions
- Personal Qualities
- Compassionate and empathetic, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care and support
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities
