Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Support Worker / Team Leader to join our exceptional team at one of our residential care homes in Malvern. As a key member of our care team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and support to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead by Example
    • Set high standards for yourself and others, promoting a culture of excellence and respect within the care team.
  • Care Planning and Delivery
    • Develop and implement personalized care plans, working closely with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure their unique needs are met.
    • Deliver high-quality care and support, promoting independence, dignity, and well-being.
  • Team Leadership and Development
    • Supervise and mentor junior staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure they meet the required standards.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews, identifying areas for development and implementing training plans to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Build strong relationships with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • Administrative and Reporting Tasks
    • Complete accurate and timely documentation, including care plans, incident reports, and other administrative tasks as required.

Requirements

  • Qualifications and Experience
    • NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
    • NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) to be achieved within a specified timeframe
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Demonstrable understanding of the legislative requirements around care of vulnerable people
    • MCA and DOLS understanding of the requirements
    • Strong numeracy, literacy, and computer skills
    • Broad knowledge of Learning Disabilities and other related conditions
  • Personal Qualities
    • Compassionate and empathetic, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care and support
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities
