We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Oncology Specialist CNS to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust. As a Specialist CNS in Paediatric Oncology, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert care to children with cancer and blood disorders, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Collaborate with specialist paediatricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with families and carers, providing emotional support and guidance throughout the treatment journey.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of evidence-based practice guidelines and protocols, ensuring that care is delivered in accordance with the latest research and best practices.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and contributing to the development of solutions to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Registered Children's Nurse (RSCN) with current registration and a degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 4 years post-registration experience in an acute paediatric setting, with a strong background in oncology and haematology.
- Proven experience in chemotherapy administration, including intravenous bolus and infusional chemotherapy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
