About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Highway Engineer to join our Transportation team in Cambridge or Chelmsford. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for preparing designs and specifications in accordance with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB).

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop designs using AutoCAD and Civil3D models.
  • Deliver work packages with scope to manage schemes and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Provide technical input to project briefs, proposals, deliverables, and cost estimation.
  • Check, certify, and authorise designs, documents, approvals, and reports.
  • Manage graduate engineers and technicians to deliver work packages.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to deliver schemes/projects.
  • Mentor and upskill junior staff.
  • Prepare feasibility studies, technical reports, and detailed designs.
Requirements
  • BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Significant experience in highway design.
  • Understanding of commercial aspects of project delivery.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and procedures.
