Personalized Tutor for English, Maths, and Science

Prospero Teaching is seeking dedicated tutors in English, Maths, and Science to provide individualized educational support to secondary-aged students who are currently not enrolled in a school.

The Role

This position is ideal for individuals who wish to move away from traditional classroom settings and positively impact the lives of students who may be disengaged or facing challenges in their educational journey.

The selected tutor will be responsible for designing, planning, and implementing customized lessons aimed at addressing gaps in the educational experience of KS3 or KS4 students, thereby enhancing their engagement and academic performance.

At Prospero Teaching, our goal is to elevate the quality of educational assistance provided to at-risk youth across the UK.

We are looking for tutors who are passionate about working with children and young adults with diverse learning needs, employing a creative, adaptable, and comprehensive approach to improve their educational outcomes.

Contract/Position Details:

  • Location: Community settings or students' residences.
  • Position: Tutor for English, Maths, and Science.
  • Type of Work: Contractual.
  • Contract Type: Temporary.
  • Hours: Part-time (15 hours per week, per student).
  • Minimum Pay Rate: £27+ per hour.
  • Working Hours: Flexible, based on family availability.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience in UK classroom settings.
  • Creative, patient, and innovative mindset.
  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEND) or those who are disengaged.

To be considered for this role, candidates must:

  • Have the legal right to work in the UK.
  • Possess an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for one.
  • Provide two professional references related to child care.
