Position Overview

The Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery department is experiencing growth to better serve the community of East Kent. We are seeking a motivated and skilled Head & Neck Surgeon to become part of a dedicated team of seven Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. The Trust is currently undergoing significant redevelopment, having secured national funding to establish a critical care hub for the region. A state-of-the-art 24-bed Intensive Care Unit has been constructed, featuring specialized training facilities, including dedicated areas for in-situ simulation training. The William Harvey site also serves as the Trauma center for East Kent, while robotic Head & Neck surgery is available at the Kent and Canterbury site, which functions as the vascular center for Kent & Medway.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be tasked with delivering exceptional Maxillofacial Surgical patient services, encompassing elective and emergency procedures, outpatient care, day-case treatments, and inpatient management.

The Consultant will be responsible for managing patient lists for outpatient consultations and admissions, ensuring adherence to nationally defined targets. The post-holder will be encouraged to cultivate additional specialist interests within the general OMFS framework, alongside a focus on Head and Neck Oncology.
