Position Overview
The Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery department is growing to address the healthcare needs of the East Kent community. We are seeking a proactive and skilled Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery to become part of a dedicated team of 7 surgeons. Our Trust is currently undergoing significant redevelopment, having secured national funding to establish a critical care hub for the region. A state-of-the-art 24-bed Intensive Care Unit has been constructed, featuring specialized training facilities, including dedicated areas for in-situ simulation training. The William Harvey site serves as the Trauma center for East Kent, while robotic surgery options are available at the Kent and Canterbury site, which also functions as the vascular center for Kent & Medway.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be tasked with providing high-quality Maxillofacial Surgical services, encompassing elective and emergency procedures, outpatient care, day-case treatments, and inpatient management.
The Consultant will prioritize patient lists for outpatient consultations and admissions in line with nationally established targets. There will be opportunities to cultivate additional specialist interests within the general OMFS framework, alongside a focus on Head and Neck Oncology.
