We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trauma Nurse Coordinator to join our dynamic team at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing expert nursing care and support to patients with complex trauma injuries.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and communicate with theatre staff and surgeons to ensure a smooth journey for planned surgery.
- Coordinate all trauma activity in both inpatient and outpatient settings, arranging admissions and ensuring patients are informed of any changes.
- Work closely with the on-call team to support and plan admissions, and liaise with surgical teams for theatre planning.
- Attend daily trauma post-take meetings and ward rounds to ensure a forward plan for new patients.
- Support clinics, including the multi-professional virtual fracture clinic, and update patients following this.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Registered nurse with relevant experience in surgery.
- Evidence of continuous professional development and teaching or mentoring qualifications.
- Post-registration qualification in specialty or willingness to complete.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as an integral member of a small team.
- Ability to work unsupervised and manage own workload, with effective time management and commitment to multidisciplinary working.
