Job Title: Apprentice Building/Quantity Surveyor

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to support our commercial team in delivering commercial duties for our Rolls Royce projects. As an Apprentice Building/Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for procuring and managing our supply chain, minimizing costs, and enhancing value for money while maintaining required standards and quality for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the commercial team in delivering commercial duties for Rolls Royce projects
  • Procure and manage our supply chain to minimize costs and enhance value for money
  • Work with PM and single source contractor to implement value engineering reductions
  • Build up estimates from first principles, including net and gross estimates
  • Provide input and commercial adjudication to potential tenders
  • Plan commercial activities to meet program requirements
  • Prepare, submit, and negotiate claims when required, including monthly valuations and final accounts
  • Manage NEC3/4 contracts, including Early Warning Notices, Risk Registers, and Compensation Events
  • Prepare cost reconciliation statements and help identify savings and value engineering opportunities
  • Measure works and agreements with subcontractors, including placement of sub-contract orders, valuing applications, and final account agreements
Requirements
  • BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying (highly desirable)
  • Proven experience in the role of a Quantity Surveyor within the building/construction/building service industries (essential)
  • Competent user of IT software packages, including MS Office
  • Commitment to providing a high-quality service, demonstrating reliability, conscientiousness, and flexibility (essential)
