About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Play Worker to join our Family Hubs Team at Derby City Council. As a Play Worker, you will be responsible for creating a safe, warm, and stimulating environment for children, and supporting the development and delivery of engaging play activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a safe and welcoming environment for children, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Develop and deliver play activities that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of children, aged 0-8 years.
  • Observe, assess, and review individual developmental milestones, planning next steps and providing support as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of children's progress and share information with families.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working with children in a relevant environment or similar setting.
  • Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
  • Understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Excellent record-keeping skills.
