About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Custody Nurse to join our team at HCRG Care Group. As a Custody Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality healthcare to individuals in police custody.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and provide care to individuals in police custody, ensuring their health and well-being are prioritized.
  • Provide healthcare interventions to manage minor illnesses or injuries, and refer individuals to appropriate services for further treatment.
  • Undertake forensic examinations of individuals in police custody, collecting evidence and providing expert opinion on injuries and conditions.
  • Collect specimens as required under legislation, and provide written statements as necessary.
  • Attend courts and tribunals as required, providing expert testimony and supporting the legal process.
  • Maintain accurate and complete clinical records, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to data protection protocols.
  • Assess and manage alcohol and drug intoxication and withdrawal, identifying vulnerabilities and safeguarding pathways.
  • Support the clinical governance agenda of the organization, contributing to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Administer medications through patient group directions and patient treatment protocols.
