Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at Clarus Education Ltd. The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and a commitment to providing high-quality education.

About the Role:

The SEND Teaching Assistant will work under the guidance of the ARMS Unit SEND Lead Practitioner/SLT/SENDCo to support children with SEN in a mainstream setting. The role will involve assisting children in the classroom, providing targeted support for individual children or small groups, and promoting inclusion and access to learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and support children to ensure their safety and access to learning
  • Establish good relationships with children, responding to individual needs and promoting inclusion
  • Support children to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher
  • Encourage children to act independently and use ICT as directed
  • Prepare and maintain equipment/resources as directed by the teacher
  • Support language acquisition and the development of speaking and listening skills
  • Provide specialist support under the guidance of therapists and other professionals
  • Support children to understand instructions and work with other professionals as necessary
Requirements:

The successful candidate will have:

Relevant and recent experience of working with children across the primary phase in a school environmentEffective experience of supporting children in a whole-class environment and in a 1:1 or small group settingExperience of working with children who have Special Educational Needs, including pupils with ASD, SEMH, and/or speech, language and communication difficultiesWhat We Offer:
