About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented General Administrator to join our Haematology Department at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the day case waiting lists, handling associated telephone calls, and providing administrative support to our clinical teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day case waiting lists and coordinate patient admissions to hospital using hospital IT systems, Medway PAS, and Bookwise.
  • Act as the first point of contact for patients with enquiries regarding admission details and waiting list queries, liaising via email, phone, or face-to-face.
  • Maintain accurate records to ensure all admissions for elective procedures are completed on Medway PAS, in line with the Trust Access Policy.
  • Provide non-clinical advice regarding hospital admission to patients seeking further advice from consultants or lead nurses.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical staff to ensure the availability of specialist equipment as required.
  • Participate in appraisals and personal reviews, and work to achieve agreed set objectives.
Requirements
  • GCSE Level or equivalent standard in Maths/English.
  • Recent administration experience, with a strong understanding of confidentiality and the importance of maintaining accurate records.
  • Competent computer skills, with experience of hospital systems such as Medway NOTIS, Medical Office, and Bookwise.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and use own initiative, with a flexible approach to working hours.
