We're seeking a seasoned Financial Crime professional to spearhead the strategic development of our Financial Crime and KYC/Onboarding department. As the business grows, you'll be responsible for shaping the future of the department, guiding teams, and driving process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and enhance Client Onboarding (EDD) and financial crime operational processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and risk assessments.
  • Perform a strategic review of systems, providing recommendations for improved control frameworks, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee the Financial Crime and KYC teams' day-to-day activities, providing guidance, coaching, and training to team leads.
  • Build out the department, defining resourcing needs and recruiting new staff to strengthen capabilities.
  • Provide SME operational recommendations in strategic projects, influencing Senior Leaders and Product teams.
  • Design and review MI to ensure key risks are monitored and a comprehensive view of department performance is reported to Senior Management.
  • Promote a culture of risk awareness and accountability for controls across teams.

This role reports to the COO and requires collaboration with Compliance, Customer Care, Complaints, Product, and Projects teams to ensure business objectives are met.

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a similar Financial Crime role in the Financial Services sector.
  • Expert knowledge of the Money Laundering Regulations 2017 and KYC requirements.
  • A self-starter with a dynamic approach to reshaping frameworks and driving impact.
  • Ability to work in a scaling environment with a focus on problem-solving and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the business.

  • Competitive salary between £50,000 - £65,000.
