We're seeking a seasoned Financial Crime professional to spearhead the strategic development of our Financial Crime and KYC/Onboarding department. As the business grows, this role will play a critical part in shaping our operational framework, ensuring scalability, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and enhance Client Onboarding (EDD) and financial crime operational processes, implementing new controls to align with company policies and risk assessments.
  • Perform a strategic review of systems, providing recommendations to support an improved control framework, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee the Financial Crime and KYC teams' day-to-day activities, providing guidance, coaching, and training to team leads.
  • Build out the department, defining the right resourcing and recruiting new staff to strengthen capabilities.
  • Provide SME operational recommendations in strategic projects, influencing Senior Leaders and Product teams to deliver automated and streamlined operations.
  • Design and review MI to ensure key risks are being monitored and an accurate view of department performance is reported to Senior Management.
  • Promote a strong culture of risk awareness and accountability for controls across the teams.

This role reports to the COO and requires collaboration with various business areas, including Compliance, Customer Care, Complaints, Product, and Projects. We're looking for a self-starter with expertise in Financial Crime, a strong understanding of the Money Laundering Regulations 2017, and excellent communication skills.
