Assistant Psychologist - Adult Mental Health

Role Overview:

Cygnet Healthcare is looking for a dedicated and skilled Assistant Psychologist to enhance the psychological services provided to adults facing mental health challenges. This full-time position involves working 37.5 hours weekly, Monday through Friday.

Facility Information:

The Cygnet Hospital Maidstone is a modern, 63-bed facility designed to provide high-quality mental health care in a therapeutic setting. It is strategically located to serve the local population effectively.

Responsibilities:

The Assistant Psychologist will play a crucial role in supporting the Qualified Psychologist by:

  • Assisting in the delivery and assessment of psychological services.
  • Conducting psychometric evaluations and standardized risk assessments.
  • Participating in clinical formulation and supervised therapeutic interventions.
  • Contributing to the improvement of clients' mental health and overall well-being.

Regular clinical supervision will be provided to foster both personal and professional growth, alongside opportunities for further training and development through our comprehensive Assistant Psychologist Development Programme.

Candidate Profile:

We seek an individual who is a proactive team player, well-organized, and motivated. A solid understanding of therapeutic boundaries, clinical risk management, and evidence-based practices is essential. Candidates should possess:

  • A degree in Psychology.
  • Postgraduate training in applied psychology or mental health (preferred).
  • Experience in mental health services, particularly in a role as an Assistant Psychologist.
  • Experience in delivering individual and group therapy sessions (desirable).
