Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled engineer specializing in fuel systems to enhance our Hydrogen Team, located in Filton.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Airbus fuel team within the Fluid Mechanics Systems domain, engaging with fellow Fuel System Engineers and key stakeholders, including Certification specialists, Procurement, and Vendors.
  • Lead and manage Project Management tasks, including the review of deliverables from Suppliers.
  • Evaluate new functionalities within the Valves Team, addressing new and modified system requirements, and communicate these to suppliers.
  • Facilitate phase reviews and Validation and Verification processes, ensuring compliance with safety and technical standards, focusing on actuated valves and redundancy, while monitoring for failures and leaks.
  • Oversee and coordinate the ATA28 system contributions to Design Reviews, ensuring Process Assurance is maintained.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including design drivers, system architectures, and test outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of Certification standards and innovate new fuel system architectures and equipment for future Hydrogen-powered aircraft.
  • Lead and conduct trade studies related to liquid hydrogen fuel systems.

Additional Responsibilities:

As part of consultancy efforts, provide support beyond the Controls & Indication Hydrogen scope, including bid work and assistance to Airbus Protect's broader Safety and Sustainability initiatives.


Qualifications:
  • Possess an engineering degree or equivalent in systems.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, particularly in fluid systems and equipment design.
  • Demonstrated experience in Project Management.
  • Familiarity with aircraft fuel systems design within the Fluid Mechanics domain.
  • Proficient in systems-based engineering, including requirements management and Validation & Verification through to certification.
  • Proven track record of leading complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience with liquid hydrogen systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge of requirements management tools, such as DOORS, is advantageous.
