About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst to join our Technology Services team at Essex County Council. As a Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in the Estates Transformation Programme, overseeing the move to a smaller, better, and greener Essex County Council estate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and analysis on market trends and technological innovation to support Technology Services Business Partners in influencing business thinking.
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of business processes and information technology needs, ensuring effective alignment between business requirements and Technology Services priorities.
  • Provide relevant information and data to support business cases, underpinned by technology trends and examples of success rates in other organisations.
  • Work collaboratively with Technical Design and Commercial teams to ensure technology progresses at a pace and direction commensurate with actual business need.
  • Translate technical vocabulary and knowledge into understandable business language to drive up functional teams' knowledge and appreciation of available technologies.
Requirements
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject, with a BCS Practitioner qualification in Business Analysis or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in a Strategic Development role, preferably working within a large Local Authority or with a Public Sector service provider.
  • Clear understanding and capability to work within relevant ICT related standards, including ITIL V3, ISO/IEC 38500, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 22301, ISO/IEC 20000, PRINCE2, and MSP.
  • Strong written, verbal communication, and presentational skills, with a strong customer service focus.
