Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Ophthalmology department in ensuring that RTT (Referral to Treatment) data submitted to the Department of Health is precise and reliable.
- Provide a robust elective care support service that aligns with the 18-week referral to treatment framework.
- Support the Assistant Service Manager in enhancing the efficiency of patient care delivery.
- Ensure that no ophthalmology patient is overlooked in follow-up care, guaranteeing timely access to necessary follow-up services.
- Act on any identified incomplete steps in a patient's treatment pathway promptly.

Job Duties
- Utilize Trust computer systems and EPR to ensure accurate RTT status for patient discharges.
- Employ patient records, existing databases, Dictate IT, TIMS, EPR, and Medisoft to compile patient pathway data.
- Source, gather, and validate precise RTT data in accordance with established practices and standards.
- Support both clinical and non-clinical teams within Ophthalmology to ensure the highest quality of information is recorded in EPR.
- Input collected data into EPR or other Trust databases accurately and promptly.
- Collaborate with staff as necessary to achieve the collection of accurate data.
- Serve as a safeguard for patients navigating the ophthalmology department, ensuring their data and subsequent appointments are correct.
- Participate in scheduled training events and attend all mandatory training sessions as required.
- Represent the RTT/validation team in relevant meetings and ensure accurate communication of all pertinent information.
- Provide on-the-job training for new staff as needed.
- Assist in monitoring the 18-week RTT target.
- Accurately document reasons for patient breaches and escalate these as appropriate.
Qualifications and Skills
Essential
- Administrative experience.
- GCSE English Language & Maths (or equivalent) at grade C or above.
- Proficiency in various computer software applications.
Desirable
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Previous experience in a waiting list or elective access role.

- Evidence of a positive approach to working in complex environments.
