Key Responsibilities:

The Sustainability Manager for EMEA will play a crucial role in ensuring that both internal and external stakeholders comprehend our sustainability vision and the priorities necessary to meet our regulatory obligations. This position demands the ability to navigate a dynamic and matrixed environment, coupled with effective communication skills to foster understanding and guide the organization through essential regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a passion for sustainability, tasked with defining and coordinating the sustainability roadmap to successful implementation through collaborative partnerships. A strong business acumen, combined with diligence, will be essential as the Sustainability Manager oversees all EMEA sustainability disclosures to support external evaluations and stakeholder interactions. This role will also lead the development of sustainability information for internal governance and annual reports while staying informed about emerging sustainability standards and regulations that may affect the organization.

Role Responsibilities Include:

  • Directing the formulation and execution of the sustainability strategy and program implementation within EMEA, ensuring accountability for outcomes.
  • Collaborating and communicating with internal experts to spearhead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Providing regular updates to the leadership team on progress towards strategic commitments, ensuring alignment with sustainability objectives.
  • Managing the initial content development of the EMEA sustainability hub to guarantee that all employees have access to current resources, tools, and data.
  • Assisting in the preparation of the annual CSR report and other corporate publications, regulatory submissions, and sustainability communications.
  • Evaluating potential areas of sustainability risk periodically, generating reports with corresponding action plans for the leadership team.
  • Establishing and maintaining a performance management framework to monitor and report on targets and compliance with sustainability regulations.
  • Creating training programs to deliver a focused and coherent sustainability initiative to enhance employee awareness and understanding.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate responses to stakeholder inquiries.
  • Collaborating with other global ESG stakeholders to promote best practices and synergy in application.
  • Ensuring that sustainability messaging is consistent and precise, working with marketing communications to disseminate news and initiatives effectively.
  • Staying informed about current sustainability requirements, new legislation, and best practice guidelines, with a clear understanding of their potential impact on the organization.
  • Undertaking additional projects or responsibilities as required by management.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in sustainability, corporate responsibility, or strategic management. A solid understanding of sustainability regulations is essential.
  • Proactive, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks with advanced project and analytical skills.
  • A strong service orientation, able to work independently or as a key support to others.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp and articulate complex topics, producing documentation and procedural materials for diverse audiences.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with strong collaboration and interpersonal abilities to engage, influence, and manage a wide range of stakeholders.
