Position: Evening Service Technician


Todd Hayes Ltd is a leading provider of machinery solutions within the Construction and Industrial sectors, dedicated to delivering exceptional product support for both new and pre-owned equipment.

Working Hours: 40 hours per week, with an on-call rotation of one in eight weeks.


The primary responsibilities of this position include diagnosing machinery issues, performing maintenance, and executing repairs on construction, agricultural, industrial, heavy line, and recycling equipment, ensuring the highest standards of service within the designated territory for both new and existing clientele.


This role is customer-centric, necessitating the establishment of robust relationships within the service industry. You will be expected to uphold a professional demeanor and provide effective service solutions to our clients, while frequently collaborating with manufacturers.

  • Deliver World-Class customer service.
  • Enhance the organization’s reputation and brand among current and prospective customers.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proficient technical diagnostic skills using laptop computers.
  • Skilled in operating PDA units for job data entry and reporting.
  • Commitment to personal development through company-sponsored training programs.
  • Ability to service and maintain equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Consistently present a professional image and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Adhere to company health and safety policies in all work practices.
Minimum Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 2 in plant engineering, servicing, and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with the plant industry or a related field.
  • Experience with hydraulic systems, including open and closed loop systems, axles, transmissions (manual and power shift), and cam-bus electrical systems.
  • Remote roles require technical expertise and industry experience for independent and competent work.
  • Strong understanding of delivering World-Class service to customers.
  • Valid driving license with a clean driving record.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of articulating ideas clearly and confidently in various formats.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Competitive salary with attractive overtime rates.
  • Auto-enrollment pension scheme.
  • 22 days of paid vacation plus public holidays, with an additional day for every five years of service.
  • Company sick pay scheme.
  • Overtime compensation: first four hours at time and a half, with double time for hours beyond that.
  • Additional compensation for on-call duties during holiday periods.

If called out, the first four hours worked will be compensated at time and a half, with double time for any hours exceeding that.

The frequency of the on-call rotation will be discussed during the interview process with the relevant management team.
