Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Fire, Health and Safety to join our team at VanRath. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for driving and improving employee engagement within the company on all health, safety, environment, and quality matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive and Improve Employee Engagement: Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement and promote a positive health and safety culture within the organization.
  • Lead Health and Safety Initiatives: Lead the implementation of health and safety initiatives, campaigns, and new processes to drive continual improvement of safety, health, environment, and quality in the company.
  • Set Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Establish and track KPIs for the SHEQ team, ensuring the team's progress is presented to the Executive Team.
  • Develop and Maintain Policies and Procedures: Develop, review, and update all safety, health, environmental, and quality strategies, policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with relevant standards and legislation.
  • Manage Incident Investigations: Lead and manage all incident investigations, ensuring investigations are thorough and completed within prescribed timescales.
  • Lead Inspections and Internal Audits: Develop and lead an effective inspection and internal audit plan, ensuring the SHEQ team carries out sufficient site inspections and internal audits of processes.
  • Communicate with Stakeholders: Liaise with external bodies, including regulatory agencies, contractors, and other stakeholders, to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent) Level 6 in Occupational Safety and Health.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of legal HSE policy and guidelines.
