Position Overview

An exceptional opportunity has emerged for a skilled Clinical Education Specialist to deliver training and educational support for individuals working within the hospice environment and those from external organizations as part of the Hospice Education collaborative across the Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care System.

As a qualified nurse, you will possess substantial experience in palliative and end-of-life care, along with a strong background in teaching, mentoring, and developing clinical personnel. We are looking for a candidate who can create innovative strategies for the delivery of palliative care education and development, demonstrating a deep commitment to the hospice's core values. Exceptional organizational skills and outstanding communication and relationship-building abilities are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Utilize the most current clinical evidence to enhance the practice of colleagues within the hospice and throughout our communities.

Serve as a credible and accessible learning resource for the clinical team across all hospice environments, facilitating the professional growth of staff.

Leverage data to inform and support educational and developmental initiatives.

Exhibit an understanding of the diverse learning needs and styles of all colleagues, with the capability to plan accordingly to meet these needs.

Design and deliver end-of-life training, education, and support for the general workforce, community groups, and the public within various community settings, including care homes and home care agencies.

Actively embody and promote the values of the organization: Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Equity.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Extensive nursing experience in palliative and end-of-life care
  • Experience in delivering both formal and informal educational sessions
  • Proficiency in data analysis and report generation

Qualifications

Essential

  • Active Adult Registered Nurse (NMC registrant)
  • Relevant diploma or degree in nursing
  • Professional teaching qualification (AET, CET, DET, PGCE) or willingness to pursue
  • Qualification in palliative care or willingness to work towards it

  • Teaching and assessing qualification or willingness to pursue
