Senior Functional Safety Specialist

Renesas Electronics is seeking a highly skilled Senior Functional Safety Engineer to join our team in the Functional Safety Competence Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and safety of our hardware components in the automotive industry.
Responsibilities:- Technical Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of automotive hardware components, including microcontrollers, system-on-chip, analog components, and power systems, in accordance with the functional safety standard ISO26262.
- Safety Analysis: Provide independent safety analysis for hardware products, focusing on their ability to withstand and operate safely in the presence of random hardware faults.
- Fault Injection Simulations: Conduct fault injection simulations to guide hardware design and enhance its robustness against random hardware faults.
- Global Collaboration: Coordinate, lead, and collaborate closely with global teams across our worldwide operations.
- Education: An ideal candidate should hold an honors degree in Electronics Engineering, Physics, or a closely related discipline, demonstrating a strong foundation in technical knowledge.
- Work Experience: Candidates should possess knowledge in digital or analogue semiconductor hardware design, with experience in Functional Safety and microcontroller design being a significant advantage.
- Problem-Solving Skills: The role requires strong problem-solving abilities, essential for assessing hardware safety and guiding design improvements.
- Cross-Cultural Collaboration: Candidates should be comfortable working with international and multicultural colleagues, as the position involves coordination with global teams.
- Motivation for Skill Development: An ideal candidate is highly motivated to continuously develop their skills and knowledge, as the role involves staying current with evolving safety standards and technologies.
