Safety-Critical Hardware Engineer Job Summary Renesas Electronics is seeking a highly skilled Safety-Critical Hardware Engineer to join our Functional Safety Competence Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing automotive hardware components to ensure they meet the highest safety standards. Responsibilities * Perform technical assessments of automotive hardware components, including microcontrollers, system-on-chip, analog components, and power systems, in accordance with the functional safety standard ISO26262. * Provide independent safety analysis for hardware products, focusing on their ability to withstand and operate safely in the presence of random hardware faults. * Conduct fault injection simulations to guide hardware design and improve its robustness against random hardware faults. * Collaborate closely with global teams to ensure seamless coordination and knowledge sharing. Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong educational background in Electronics Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline, and have experience in digital or analogue semiconductor hardware design. Functional Safety and microcontroller design experience is highly desirable. * Strong problem-solving skills are essential for assessing hardware safety and guiding design improvements. * You should be comfortable working with international and multicultural colleagues, as this role involves coordination with global teams. * A strong motivation to continuously develop your skills and knowledge is necessary, as this role requires staying current with evolving safety standards and technologies. * You should be capable of working effectively within a team but also be self-driven and capable of taking initiative when needed.
