London, Greater London, United Kingdom Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Position Overview

We are excited to announce two remarkable opportunities for seasoned nursing professionals to join our leadership team on Samaritan Ward. These roles include a permanent position as well as a 12-month secondment, both of which are full-time and designed to blend clinical nursing with the chance to enhance your managerial capabilities.

If you are driven and eager to advance your Band 6 clinical leadership skills in a nurturing and forward-thinking environment, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.

Samaritan Ward is a specialized 25-bed unit focusing on Haematology, where we deliver comprehensive care for patients undergoing chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments, supportive rehabilitation, and end-of-life care.

Our team operates within a vibrant multidisciplinary framework to provide exemplary Haematology and Oncology services, and we offer a thorough induction program to assist you in honing your leadership and management skills.

Main Responsibilities

We seek a compassionate and dedicated nurse who is enthusiastic about delivering the highest standards of personalized patient care while embodying the trust's values.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the team of deputies to support the Ward Sister and Matrons. This is a unique chance to engage with a highly esteemed and innovative multidisciplinary team at one of the UK's premier teaching hospitals.

Your role will also involve providing managerial and operational assistance to the management team, overseeing a small group of ward staff, and ensuring they remain current with training and performance evaluations.

As an Assistant Charge Nurse, you will be expected to exemplify the Trust's values and behaviors, demonstrating professionalism, positivity, and enthusiasm that reflect the ethos of the ward.

About Us

Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust encompasses five of the UK's most recognized hospitals, alongside community services in Lambeth and Southwark, all with a rich history of delivering high-quality care, clinical excellence, research, and innovation.

We are among the busiest and most successful foundation trusts in the UK, providing specialized care for patients with heart and lung conditions, cancer, and renal services, as well as a full range of local hospital and community services.

With a long-standing tradition of clinical and scientific achievement, we are part of King's Health Partners, one of England's eight academic health sciences centers, which integrates world-class clinical services, education, and research.

We employ approximately 22,700 staff, making us one of the largest NHS Trusts in the country and a significant local employer. We strive to reflect the diversity of the communities we serve and continually develop new and existing partnerships with local individuals, patients, neighboring NHS organizations, local authorities, charitable bodies, and GPs.
