Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Lighthouse Green Fuels, a part of Alfanar Energy UK, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at our Teesside site. Our company is developing the largest Advanced Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) project in Europe, utilizing cutting-edge technology and attracting a significant investment package.

We are returning our power plant to service, and this role will play a crucial part in its operational success. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for completing planned maintenance and compliance checks on all assets site-wide, dealing with breakdowns, and contributing to project work in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out preventative maintenance activities as identified within routines and input data onto the maintenance management system.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance department.
  • Develop maintenance plans through discussion with the Maintenance Supervisor and initiate periodic OEM maintenance plans.
  • Report any issues and concerns through the Direct Line Manager.
  • Monitor plant equipment and ensure preventive/corrective maintenance implementation as per the maintenance schedule.
  • Ensure the implementation of regular PMs as per schedule during respective shifts.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance.
  • Formal mechanical maintenance background.
  • Experience with power plant and ancillary equipment.
  • Extensive industrial plant/process industry maintenance experience.
  • Heavy engineering/heavy manufacturing plant experience (e.g., chemical plant, brewery, paper mill, manufacturing plant, power generating plant CHP, recycling plant, foundry, etc.).
  • Experience with basic mechanical equipment (e.g., pumps, valves, gearboxes, heat exchangers, steam systems).
  • Experience working with steam and gas turbines is desirable.
  • Boiler/steam experience would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Working with maintenance systems (CMMS) such as SAP or MAXIMO.
  • Proven fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Formal electrical/mechanical/instrument apprenticeship/training.
  • Understanding/qualifications in SHE and Plant Engineering regulations (IOSH/NEBOSH/CoMAH).
