CAMHS Getting Help Service

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist/Therapist to join our team at Tewv Brits, providing a service within the Durham and Darlington CAMHS Getting Help Service. As a key member of our clinical leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the assessment and outcome of children and young people referred to CAMHS is effective.
Main Responsibilities- Offer supervision, advice, consultation, and training to other members of the CAMHS Getting Help Team.
- Play a key role in continuing to develop integrated working of the team, including multi-disciplinary and multi-agency collaboration.
- Work with a small caseload within our getting help services, under the support and guidance of a Consultant Psychologist within the CAMHS service.
You will be part of a well-established and supportive Psychological Professions Network within the wider Durham and Tees Valley Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. Our team is supported by a highly motivated team of senior managers and clinical leads, with strong links to local training courses in clinical psychology, counselling psychology, and psychological therapy.
Person Specification- Post-graduate training (doctoral level equivalent) in clinical/counselling/forensic psychology, as accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
- HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
- Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice.
- Trained in clinical supervision and the supervision of doctoral trainees.
- Trained in care coordination.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Registration with the BPS.
- Working as a qualified applied psychologist within the designated service, including a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course, and a range of clinical severity across a range of care settings.
- Exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care as a care coordinator within the context of a multidisciplinary team.
- Teaching, training, and clinical supervision, including field supervision for doctoral theses.
- Research and development.
- Quality and service improvement and evaluation.
- Experience of joint working with statutory, voluntary, and private sector agencies.
- Risk assessment and risk management.
- Communicating highly complex and sensitive information effectively to a wide range of people.
- Evidence-based practice relevant to the role.
- Undertaking complex multi-agency working and liaising with multiple systems.
