Senior Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientist to join our Acoustic and Structures team in the Building Test Centre at Saint Gobain Interior Solutions. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for testing within acoustics and structure labs, as well as identifying opportunities to optimize testing methods.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct testing in acoustics and structures labs, ensuring high-quality results and adherence to UKAS accredited standards.
- Research and implement new testing methods, collaborating with customers and stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the technical aspects of testing for the construction industry, staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
- Work closely with customers to define their requirements and identify root causes of problems, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
- Plan and conduct UKAS accredited testing, following strict requirements laid out in EN ISO 17025.
- Drive continuous improvement of our methods and testing, delivering high-quality analysis in a professional manner.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures, ensuring respect for health and safety, the elimination of waste, care for the environment, equality of opportunity, and the prevention of fraud.
- Minimum of 3 years of Continued Professional Development in specialist domain (Testing and UKAS).
- Experience of construction testing, including fire, acoustics, structures, glass plastering, etc.
- Education or experience in a science or engineering field (Mechanical engineering).
- Competent to conduct a wide range of complex testing services in a professional manner and to a high standard.
- Ability to identify and drive through to completion Customer / Service improvement activities.
