About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientist to join our Acoustic and Structures team in the Building Test Centre. As a Senior Scientist, you will be responsible for testing within acoustics and structure labs, as well as identifying ways to optimize testing methods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct testing within acoustics and structure labs, ensuring high-quality analysis and adherence to strict requirements.
  • Research and implement new testing methods, collaborating with customers and stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the technical aspects of testing for the construction industry.
  • Plan and conduct UKAS accredited testing, ensuring compliance with EN ISO 17025 standards.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of our methods and testing, delivering high-quality analysis in a professional manner.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures, ensuring respect for health and safety, the elimination of waste, care for the environment, equality of opportunity, and the prevention of fraud.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years Continued Professional Development in specialist domain (Testing and UKAS).
  • Experience of construction testing (e.g., fire, acoustics, structures, glass plastering, etc.).
  • Education or experience in a science or engineering field (Mechanical engineering).
  • Competence to conduct a wide range of complex testing services in a professional manner and to a high standard.
