Position Overview
We invite applications for the role of Senior Clinical Biochemist within our esteemed Clinical Biochemistry department. This position is ideal for HCPC registered Clinical Scientists (band 7) or those nearing completion of their Scientist Training Programme (STP).
The Clinical Biochemistry division is an integral part of our laboratory services, encompassing Automated Chemistry, Special Investigations, and Point of Care Testing (POCT). Our team is dedicated to employing a variety of advanced laboratory techniques, including HPLC, ICPMS, and LC-MS/MS. As our POCT service continues to grow, the successful candidate will primarily support this area while also having the flexibility to choose their specific focus.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with laboratory leadership to deliver a high-quality, efficient service.
- Ensure timely processing of patient samples, serving a diverse patient population.
- Engage in clinical audits and research initiatives to enhance clinical practices.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with clinical colleagues.
- Contribute to the education and training of Healthcare Scientist colleagues.
The successful candidate will be expected to take part in the Duty Biochemist rota and will have opportunities for professional development, including pursuing higher qualifications such as FRCPath.
