Consultant Anaesthetist Opportunity in Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Anaesthetist to join our team at Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary. The successful candidate will have a specialist interest in Intensive Care Medicine and will contribute to the delivery of high-quality anaesthetic services to patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide anaesthetic services to patients, including pre-operative assessment, anaesthesia, and post-operative care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of anaesthetic services, including the introduction of new techniques and technologies.
  • Participate in on-call rota and provide emergency anaesthetic services as required.
  • Contribute to the education and training of junior anaesthetists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and services.

Requirements:

  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
  • Eligibility for entry onto the Specialist Register for Anaesthesia or current membership.
  • Subspecialty interest in Intensive Care Medicine, with additional qualifications such as FFICM desirable.
  • Competency and experience across all anaesthesia sub-specialties, particularly Intensive Care, Obstetrics, and Paediatrics.
