We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Anaesthetist to join our team at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality anaesthetic care to patients, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient outcomes.
About the RoleThis is a full-time Consultant Anaesthetist position, offering a competitive salary and a range of benefits. You will be part of a dynamic team, working in a state-of-the-art hospital with excellent facilities. The Anaesthetic Department is accredited for basic and intermediate level training in Intensive Care Medicine and is heavily involved in Critical Care and Resuscitation teaching.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality anaesthetic care to patients, working closely with our multidisciplinary team
- Participate in on-call rotas, including 2nd and 3rd on-call duties
- Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures
- Engage in educational and research activities, including teaching and training
- Collaborate with other departments to deliver excellent patient outcomes
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Full GMC registration with a license to practice
- Be on the Specialist Register for Anaesthesia or be eligible for entry within 6 months
- Competency and experience across all anaesthesia sub-specialties, particularly Intensive Care, Obstetrics, and Paediatrics
- A subspecialty interest in Intensive Care is essential, with additional qualifications like FFICM desirable
