An exceptional opportunity has emerged for qualified and seasoned professionals to become integral members of our Safeguarding Team in the capacity of Child Protection Nurse Consultant. The successful candidates will play a crucial role within the children safeguarding team, collaborating closely with colleagues to uphold the highest standards of care while ensuring that the safeguarding of children remains central to our practice.
In this position, you will engage in a diverse range of safeguarding initiatives. Responsibilities will include providing guidance, support, and oversight to frontline practitioners, working alongside multidisciplinary teams, and participating in various safeguarding meetings. This role is essential in contributing to the development and delivery of safeguarding training programs.
Candidates must exhibit a curious mindset, critical thinking abilities, and analytical skills to enhance decision-making processes related to the protection of vulnerable children. Strong organizational skills and the capacity to work autonomously, as well as collaboratively within a broader team, are essential.
The role will be situated within our community team, supporting universal services.
Main Responsibilities
- Identify vulnerable children, young individuals, and families early, providing effective support and care programs that promote their health and wellbeing.
- Recognize and mitigate situations that may adversely affect the health and wellbeing of individuals.
- Exhibit expert practice and provide specialized advice in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Deliver professional clinical leadership in specialized areas.
- Contribute to child protection case conferences and strategy meetings to ensure optimal outcomes for vulnerable children.
- Represent the organization in multi-agency subgroups as necessary.
- Conduct formal safeguarding training sessions for designated staff on child protection and safeguarding matters, facilitating learning and personal development.

- Registered Nurse with specialization in Child Health or Health Visiting.
- Specialist Community Public Health Nursing qualification.
Desirable Criteria
- ENB / MSc in Child Protection.
- ENB 998 or Teaching qualification.

- Awareness and knowledge of child protection issues.
