Job Summary

A challenging opportunity has arisen for a Relief Receptionist to join our team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our front desk team, you will provide a professional and efficient service to patients and visitors, ensuring a positive experience for all.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide a warm and welcoming check-in experience for patients and their families, managing expectations during busy periods.
  • Ensure confidentiality and maintain strict adherence to data protection policies.
  • Manage patient records, filing reports and correspondence in accordance with hospital procedures.
  • Reconcile clinics and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Undertake administrative duties associated with patient discharge and transfer, including booking follow-up appointments and ensuring the safe return of case notes.
  • Answer telephones, receive and relay messages, and perform ad hoc messenger duties as required.
  • Demonstrate a flexible approach to departmental duties and be proactive in escalating any concerns to line management.
Person Specification
  • GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • OCR II keyboard skills (or equivalent)
  • Previous reception experience, including dealing with telephone enquiries and general public
  • Experience of working flexibly as part of a team and data input
  • Computer literacy and good communication skills
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • ECDL qualification
  • Previous admin experience in a healthcare setting
  • Ability to prioritize workload and work under pressure
