About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst to join our Finance team at Wickes Building Supplies Limited. As a Senior Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in gaining an understanding of our data and fields from source platforms that feed into our data lake. Your expertise will support the wider business with their data needs, and you will be responsible for supporting the development of our Data Lake, collaborating with relevant stakeholders and Data Analysts to ensure that business needs are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Business Decision Making: Provide deep dive detailed analysis relevant to our business areas, enabling us to make informed decisions.
  • Data Reporting and Training: Support business needs with relevant training, support, and MI Data. Create user manuals/documents to support non-technical colleagues.
  • Data Lake Development: Collaborate with stakeholders and Data Analysts to ensure that business needs are met. Apply your analytical knowledge to business problems, recommending and implementing the analytical approach.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Deliver data quality assurance, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality are present throughout data processes and systems.
  • Process Improvement: Ensure robust procedures and processes are in place to ensure team best practice and high-quality outputs.
Requirements
  • Relevant Experience: 5+ years of BI/data experience, with expertise in BI Tools and SQL databases.
  • Technical Skills: Strong documentation skills, ability to translate IT into layman's terms, and functional and technical understanding of Google reporting and data warehouse architecture.
  • Soft Skills: Confident communicator, capable of owning projects E2E, with strong acumen for business analysis and user engagement.
  • Cloud Data Warehouse Experience: Experience using cloud data warehouse technologies and confident working with large datasets.
