This position for the Security Officer will be fully trained in Security operations, ensuring the highest standards of fire, health, and safety regulations are maintained. The role involves patrolling malls, service areas, service desks, and public areas to secure the premises. All duties must be carried out in adherence with the IFM Health and Safety policy, with a focus on personal appearance and hygiene at all times. To assure that the company standards and policies are followed and maintained, the successful candidate will work on a variable shift rota between 06:30 to 18:30.
Responsibilities- Start shift promptly at the designated time, in full uniform, and communicate the "changeover" of shift to the on-shift supervisor, including handover of shift keys, PDA, confirmation of staff on shift, contractors on site, incident occurrences from previous shift, confirmation of any insecure doors, and any matters pertaining to the smooth effective running of the shift.
- Understand fire alarm procedures comprehensively and be aware of responsibilities and powers as a member of the security team and when to hand over to police instruction.
- Security Guards not trained in first aid must be aware of the manned first aider on shift.
- On night shifts, maintain check calls as required.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely, properly, and thoroughly, considering Health and Safety legislation, Incentive FM policies and procedures, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Keep your working area clean and tidy at all times and store your tools and equipment safely.
- Be prepared to receive and undertake further training as required.
- SIA licence (CCTV & DS where applicable).
- Experience in building partnerships with clients.
- Organised individual with a record of planning and managing workflows.
- Understanding of high-quality service delivery and its impact.
- Agile and flexible to meet the needs and demands of the role.
