Our Team
The Insight & Evaluation team plays a crucial role in the data, research, and content generated by Energy Saving Trust. Our work is diverse, encompassing tasks such as quantifying potential savings from energy efficiency improvements, modeling the effects of innovative technologies, creating training materials on energy efficiency, and researching public perceptions of government policies while evaluating the outcomes of various programs.
Team members work independently on projects but also collaborate closely, exchanging ideas and tackling complex challenges together, ensuring that knowledge sharing and development remain central to our operations.
Your Role
In alignment with our strategic goals, we are looking for a Lead Evaluation Consultant. This position has been established to enhance our advisory, informational, and support services for consumers and small enterprises, expedite our transition to a digitally-driven organization, and expand our influence across England.
In collaboration with colleagues from the Insight and Evaluation team and other departments, you will take the lead in compiling and reporting on the impact of Energy Saving Trust's initiatives. You will also partner with various teams to identify and facilitate the implementation of cost-effective monitoring and evaluation strategies for new business endeavors.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute a comprehensive work plan for assessing and reporting on Energy Saving Trust's initiatives.
- Formulate methodologies to evaluate the greenhouse gas emissions reductions resulting from a broad spectrum of Energy Saving Trust's support to consumers, SMEs, large public and private sectors, and intermediaries.
- Document and communicate the overall impact of Energy Saving Trust's activities, considering overlaps between our programs and external initiatives.
- Collaborate with the senior leadership team and various departments to provide expertise on effective monitoring and evaluation practices.
- Work alongside other members of the Insight and Evaluation team to ensure that ongoing evaluations contribute to the overall reporting framework of Energy Saving Trust.
- Stay informed about emerging trends in evaluation and impact assessment relevant to Energy Saving Trust's mission.
Qualifications
- Relevant professional experience or equivalent qualifications demonstrating the necessary skills and knowledge for this position.
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing cost-effective evaluation and research methodologies, including theories of change, sampling strategies, and both quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques.
- Experience in delivering projects for internal or external stakeholders within agreed timelines.
- Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in tools such as Excel, R, or SPSS.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present information effectively.
- Self-motivated and capable of taking ownership of your work.
- Commitment to integrity and maintaining high professional standards.
