About the Role:
A dedicated primary educational institution is looking for a committed individual to provide support for children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role is crucial in fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Your Responsibilities:
As a Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant, your duties will include:

  • Delivering tailored one-on-one and small group assistance to students facing SEMH challenges, ensuring they are fully engaged in their educational journey.
  • Supporting the creation and execution of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies specific to each student.
  • Providing emotional and behavioral guidance to help students navigate their difficulties and enhance their resilience.
  • Working collaboratively with educators, special educational needs (SEN) experts, and families to guarantee cohesive support and favorable outcomes for students.
  • Establishing a secure, nurturing, and encouraging classroom atmosphere where every child feels valued and motivated.

Candidate Profile:
We are seeking individuals who possess:

  • Experience in working with primary-aged children, especially those with SEMH needs, in an educational or supportive capacity.
  • A caring, patient, and adaptable demeanor, with a strong dedication to facilitating children's success.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, enabling the development of positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • A collaborative spirit with a proactive mindset, ready to respond to the varied needs of our students.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare, or a willingness to pursue further training.
