Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing individual to support a pupil with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) struggles in our year 3 class. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with the class teacher to create a harmonious and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the pupil in day-to-day tasks, including academic and personal activities.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to identify and address learning gaps, and provide targeted support to ensure the pupil's academic progress.
  • Recognize and respond to the pupil's emotional and behavioral needs, and work with the class teacher to develop strategies to promote a positive and calm classroom environment.
  • Communicate effectively with the class teacher, other support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive and supportive approach to the pupil's education.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications and training in education or a related field.
  • Experience working with children with SEMH struggles or similar needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
