About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join our team at Belmont Secondary School. As a SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a wide range of needs, including physical disabilities, sensory impairments, speech and language difficulties, learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach students with SEN in a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans to meet the unique needs of each student
  • Collaborate with the classroom teacher and other support staff to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to student support
  • Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to engage students and promote learning
  • Assess and report on student progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness
  • Develop and maintain relationships with students, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and support

Requirements

  • Qualified teacher with a degree in Special Educational Needs or a related field
  • Experience working with students with SEN, preferably in a secondary school setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities, with a flexible and patient approach
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with best practices in SEN education
