About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join our team at Belmont Secondary School. As a SEN Teacher, you will work with pupils who require additional support to reach their full educational potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach pupils with a range of special educational needs, including physical disabilities, sensory impairments, speech and language difficulties, and learning difficulties.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans to meet the unique needs of each pupil.
  • Collaborate with the classroom teacher to define appropriate activities for pupils and provide support to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Use specialist skills, such as teaching Braille or sign language, to support pupils with visual or hearing impairments.
  • Mark and assess pupil work, providing constructive feedback to support their progress.
  • Develop and adapt conventional teaching methods to meet the individual needs of pupils.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with pupils with special educational needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
