Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervising Social Worker to join our Specialist Foster Care Scheme team at Cheshire West and Chester Council.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of potential foster carers to ensure the best possible outcomes for children in care.
  • Provide supervision and support to foster carers, promoting a safe and nurturing environment for children.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to develop and implement effective care plans that meet the unique needs of each child.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in trauma-informed care and social work.
  • Work closely with the management team to ensure the smooth operation of the Specialist Foster Care Scheme.
Requirements
  • Post-qualifying experience in a statutory setting, with a strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and legislation.
  • Registration with Social Work England as a registered Social Worker.
  • Ability to work across the Cheshire West and Chester Borough and beyond.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with foster carers, children, and other professionals.
