About the Role

As the HSE Manager, you will spearhead the health, safety, and environmental (HSE) initiatives across multiple sites. This role is essential in driving compliance, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a culture of safety throughout the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures in line with legal requirements and company standards.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits, ensuring that any corrective actions are taken promptly.
  • Manage and mentor the health and safety teams across multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Lead initiatives to improve manual handling processes and manage risks related to hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS).
  • Oversee the Health and Safety Committee, driving employee engagement and continuous safety improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to achieve sustainability goals, particularly in waste reduction and resource management.
  • Ensure incident investigations are thoroughly conducted and lessons are applied across the organisation.
  • Travel to international sites (approx. twice per year) will be required.

About You

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification in occupational health and safety.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar HSE management role, ideally within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK HSE legislation, with specific experience in manual handling and HAVS management.
  • Proven ability to build and implement HSE systems and drive cultural change in a workplace.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
