Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Coordinator to join our team at the Medical Research Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Division, ensuring the smooth operation of our office and providing excellent customer service to our stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage routine office administration, including managing schedules, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Provide administrative support to the Neurobiology team, including preparing documents, making travel arrangements, and coordinating meetings.
  • Manage and prioritize own workload with minimal supervision, ensuring timely completion of tasks and maintaining high standards of quality and attention to detail.
  • Make decisions within routine procedures and follow established guidelines and processes.
  • Interact and communicate effectively with multiple teams, including Neurobiology HoDs, administrative staff, external visitors, and external teams.
Requirements
  • Essential: 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including minimum Grade C in Mathematics and English.
  • Desirable: Educated to A level, BTEC, HND or equivalent.
  • Essential: Some administrative experience.
  • Desirable: Administrative experience in a busy office, laboratory, or clinical environment, with experience of working with multiple processes and tight deadlines.
Personal Qualities
  • Ability to provide a high standard of administrative services, including the use of office equipment and technological solutions.
  • Proficiency in standard office packages, Microsoft Office, email, and online ordering systems.
  • Ability to solve problems within guidelines and recognize when to seek help.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Confident working independently and as part of a team.
