A prominent global manufacturer of specialized chemical and gas products serving various sectors including manufacturing, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, brewing, and consumer goods is seeking a skilled Quality Engineer. This role is pivotal in enhancing our continuous improvement initiatives across customer interactions, supplier relationships, and production operations.

This unique opportunity offers extensive exposure to business processes throughout our diverse product and service offerings, from supplier selection and approval to involvement in the entire product lifecycle, including direct customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a risk-based supplier assessment program aimed at identifying suppliers with significant SHEQ risk profiles.
  • Conduct onsite audits and remote evaluations to ensure stakeholders, including customers and regulatory bodies, are confident in our risk management practices.
  • Oversee supplier relationships where products, equipment, or services do not meet established expectations, requiring proactive engagement with both suppliers and internal teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supplier assessment framework.
  • Provide guidance and support to suppliers whose systems and processes require enhancement to meet technical standards.
  • Enhance and uphold the defective equipment investigation protocol.
  • Collaborate with Technical Authorities and suppliers on investigations related to defective equipment.
  • Assist the Quality & Assurance Manager in addressing technical quality issues and leveraging opportunities for business and SHEQ performance enhancement.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance and quality standards are met.

Qualifications:

  • Fully qualified engineer with a background in production, chemical, or manufacturing disciplines, preferably in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems, particularly ISO 9001.
  • Formal auditing qualifications are advantageous.
  • Proven track record in Continuous Improvement and Project Leadership.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers and suppliers.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
