Job Title: Buyer and Merchandiser

Wheelbase Lakeland Limited, a leading premium cycle retailer, is seeking an experienced Retail Merchandiser to join their team at their Lake District head office.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Retail Merchandiser to oversee the range planning and performance monitoring of Parts, Accessories, and Clothing (PAC) from our industry-leading cycling brands. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that these products are displayed in the right stores and website, at the right time, in the right quantities, and with timely replenishment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and monitor product ranges to maximize profits
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure best cost prices and manage stock distribution
  • Communicate product range plans to various teams, including Visual Merchandising, Retail, Stock, and eCommerce
  • Work with the Finance Director to forecast profits, sales, and plan budgets to control stock levels
  • Analyze sales data and report on product performance at weekly Buying and Merchandising meetings
  • Identify bestsellers and slow sellers, and plan promotions with the Marketing team
  • Maintain awareness of competitors' performance and cycle market trends
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in merchandising and/or retail/business management
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, including proficiency in Excel
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to understand customer appeal
